DR. HEMENDRA RAMNIKLAL PARMAR February 14, 1965 - June 22, 2002 Today we say farewell to our son, brother, husband, father, doctor and friend. Hemendra was born in Mbale, Uganda on Valentines Day - befitting, as this is the day of Love. His family moved to Canada in 1973 and Hems childhood continued in Swift Current, SK. His university career began at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. He obtained his physiology degree, then moved onward to pursue a Podiatry degree at the London Foot Hospital in England. Being chosen as Student Body President and graduating with distinction as a doctor of podiatry in 1990, Hemendra made close ties with every individual he encountered. Upon his return to Canada, Hemendra worked in various centers, with his final practice established in Saskatoon, SK. In 1991, Hemendra and Naina began their life together. They were blessed with the son Nikhil on February 7, 1995, followed by their daughter Sarina on January 9, 1999. Hemendra was a devoted husband, incredible father and dedicated son and brother. His family was his life. His passions included cooking, eating a variety of foods and test-driving exotic cars. Hem was predeceased by his Nana Mr. Devjibhai Jethwa and his Ba Mrs. Vijyaben Parmar. He is survived by his paternal grand-father Bapa, Mr. Mohanlal Parmar; his ever-loving wife Naina, their two beautiful children, Nikhil and Sarina; and his adoring family. He passed away peacefully surrounded by all of those who loved him. The family would like to extend their warmest thanks to the staff and volunteers on the 5th floor Med and Palliative Care Unit at St. Pauls Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Voll, Dr. Chary and Dr. Kusch. Dr. Hemendra Parmar was taken from us far too soon, but his memory will remain in our hearts forever. Funeral services were held on Friday, June 28, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Acadia Drive Funeral Chapel, 915 Acadia Dr. All family, friends, and Hems patients were welcome to attend the funeral services. Memorial donations may be made to St. Pauls Hospital Palliative Care, 1702 - 20th St. W., Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9. Arrangements were in care of David Grambo of McKagues Funeral Chapel. 306-664-3131.
